LEAD PHOTOGRAPHER

My name is Yvette and I’m the team photographer. My passion for photography began when my mom gave me a little disposable camera for my seventh birthday. I cherished that gift and ever since then knew how special it was to capture moments. For me, photography was a side gig and hobby but shooting for People of Colour truly gave me the confidence I needed with my work.

I am extremely grateful I get to photograph different kinds of people wearing clothing that speaks their stories. Growing up in Corvallis I didn’t see much diversity around me or in the media. I want to change that now and inspire those who don’t feel heard or seen. My parents immigrated to America for a better life and I am proud to represent that today as an Asian American. LEAD VIDEOGRAPHER

My name is Lorenzo and I am the team videographer. I've always loved film and the cinema since I was young and when the right time came I invested in what I wanted to create and have not looked back. Working with People of Colour has given me the creative freedom I crave for a brand that I have seen grow from the ground up. My goal is to give the opportunities and support that I've received to those that will come after me. (CLICK HERE TO VIEW MORE OF HIS WORK)

GRAPHIC DESIGN

My name is Angel and I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator studying at Oregon State University. My passion for art and design started at a young age but blossomed when I started bullet journaling and creating fun templates for my peers.

Having come from a predominantly white community, the lack of representation has pushed me to learn more and become an active advocate through my art. I have used my time on campus as a way to bridge conversations and be active in the Black Student Union and the cultural centers. (CLICK HERE TO VIEW MORE OF HER WORK)

BRAND CREATOR

Darius is the creator of People of Colour Clothing and a recent graduate of Oregon State University. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee with ties to North Atlanta, he decided to move to Oregon to get out of his comfort zone. Within this transition, he experienced just how different the Pacific Northwest was from the South—primarily on the topic of diversity. He had not experienced being the only black person in a room of 100 people consistently before Oregon—he felt out of place. The environment went beyond making him uncomfortable; it brought anxiety, depression, and isolation behavior.

There came a point when shouldering his racial identity was too much for me to bear. What emerged from this situation was a concept for a brand that could both unify the P.O.C. community and provide awareness opportunities. A concept that created opportunities for people to examine their conscious behavior on race-related topics. It was this concept that changed his life—I went from moving to Oregon to study Horticulture & Public Health to graduating with a clothing brand.
